Ontario Street/West Street Co-Development Cluster
City of Albany
The Albany County Land Bank has partnered with Regan Development to redevelop four or five properties in Albany’s Beverwyck neighborhood. This mixed-use, mixed-income project will incorporate approximately 57 affordable rental units, a daycare center, and a community hub for community-oriented services for existing and new residents. The community hub concept was developed from feedback from the stated needs of residents and local non-profits to create a shared re-visioning of what a community center is.
Developer: Albany County Land Bank Corporation (ACLBC) and Regan Development
Partners: City of Albany, New York State Homes and Community Renewal
Background
A request for a development plan review was submitted to the City of Albany to remove the existing building located at 130 Ontario Street in order to construct a 4-story, 76-unit multi-family building with a community hub and approximately 5,900 square feet space for daycare/retail. The project merges three lots at 130 Ontario Street, 134 West Street, and 154 West Street with the public right-of-way at West Street into a single lot.
In November 2024, a Master Application was submitted by the Land Bank to the City for the project.
