BOARD AND COMMITTEES
The Albany County Land Bank's Board of Directors oversees efforts to revitalize neighborhoods by addressing vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties. They ensure compliance with laws, uphold ethical standards, and guide policies that return underutilized properties to productive use. Through collaboration with local governments and stakeholders, the Board fosters community development, reduces blight, and supports economic growth in Albany County.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of eight (8) members who shall be residents or have their primary place of business in Albany County and be at least 18 years of age. Board members serve terms of four (4) years commensurate with the four-year terms of members of the County Legislature. Directors whose terms have expired are considered holdover members until reappointed or replaced. Directors serve at the pleasure of the County Legislature.

The Albany County Land Bank Corporation has established committees in accordance with New York State Public Authorities Law. Committees meet and conduct business in accordance with Open Meetings Law.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is responsible for the management of the business and affairs of the land bank with certain exceptions established by the land bank’s bylaws or by law.

Committees of the Corporation
Acquisition and Disposition Committee
Provides oversight and guidance on the Land Bank’s acquisition and sale of properties. Reviews property transactions and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Audit Committee
Oversees financial reporting, risk management, and internal controls. Works closely with auditors to ensure transparency and accountability in financial practices.

Monitors compliance with property maintenance and development agreements. Recommends action on enforcement issues and helps ensure accountability from purchasers.
