INCLUSIVE NEIGHBORHOODS PROGRAM
The Inclusive Neighborhoods Program supports the creation of permanent affordable housing in the City of Albany by partnering with the Albany Community Land Trust. This initiative helps expand homeownership opportunities for economically disadvantaged residents while preserving long-term affordability.
HOW DOES IT WORK
Through this program, the Land Bank may offer select residential properties outside of its Focus Neighborhoods to the Albany Community Land Trust at a discounted price. These homes are available for a limited time and must meet eligibility criteria.
Once acquired, the Land Trust will:
Renovate the property (if needed)
Sell the home to a qualified low-income buyer
Ensure that the home remains affordable for generations through a 99-year renewable ground lease
LONG-TERM AFFORDABILITY
Buyers must:
Occupy the home as their Principal Residence
Agree to the affordability terms laid out in the Land Trust’s ground lease, which ensures stability and equity-building while keeping the home affordable for future owners
BUILDING STRONG, INCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES
This program is part of our mission to promote equitable neighborhood development, reduce displacement, and provide sustainable pathways to homeownership for Albany residents.
