Now hiring: Administrative Assistant

The Albany County Land Bank is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure our office operations run smoothly and efficiently. They will be responsible for interacting with the public (e.g. in-person, by phone, via email), data entry, and performing routine clerical, secretarial and administrative tasks.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities: Essential responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following items.

  • Manage incoming visitors, calls, and emails in a polite and professional manner

  • Maintain electronic and physical documents and filing systems

  • Coordinate meetings, schedule appointments, and manage multiple calendars

  • Take meeting minutes and prepare agendas

  • Handle requisitions and place orders for office supplies

  • Format and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents

  • Enter various data into the Land Bank’s information systems

  • Perform basic bookkeeping and record keeping duties

  • Maintain and store documentation in accordance with office policy and procedures

  • Liaise between staff members and provide clerical support

  • Provide backup for other administrative roles as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred

  • 1+ years of administrative or office experience

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional demeanor and customer service orientation

This is a full-time in office position with competitive pay and benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan. The salary for this position is anticipated at $45,000 per year.
